$12 Minimum Wage

I want a $12 minimum wage increase for every low wage and middle class Georgian in the 8th District. The State of Georgia has not increased and raised the state's minimum wage which is $5.15 per hour below the federal minimum wage since 2009 when the federal government made the State of Georgia and the businesses that operate in the State of Georgia raise their minimum wage they pay their employees to $7.25 per hour $13,920 a year for 8 hours a day 5 days a week 4 weeks a month for full time employees, $8,352 a year for 6 hours a day 4 days a week for part time employees. A low income family and a middle class family cannot live making $7.25 per hour either working part time 6 hours a day 4 days a week or working full time 8 hours a day 5 days a week. These are slavery wages and with no assistance from the state government or federal government Georgians are currently living in poverty and struggling in their lives either single with no children, single with several children, married with no children, or married with children. I want to change that that every Georgian in the 8th Congressional District can live comfortably and take care of their responsibilities and enjoy their lives making a decent livable wage if they work a full time job in the 8th Congressional District in the State of Georgia. The cost of living has increased significantly since the 1980s and wage increases have not been given to keep up with the increase in living costs.
